David Turner, a Seattle-based house and techno DJ, is the founder of House Music Asylum. The David Turner Music Show on Twitch has revolutionized online music streaming, amassing 130,000+ hours watched. Having shared stages with top artists, he continues to shape the global electronic music scene.
David Turner is a Seattle techno DJ with more than fifteen years behind the decks, playing clubs, festivals, raves, and private events across the Pacific Northwest. He is the founder of House Music Asylum, a global collective of more than fifty DJs, and the host of the David Turner Music Show on Twitch.
Techno sits at the center of it, but the sets move. Tech house, progressive, deep house, and trance all find their way in, built around driving rhythms and atmospheric layers that hold a room from the first record to the last. David started producing electronic music in 1995 and stepped behind the decks in 2011, and his sets carry both halves of that history: a producer’s ear for arrangement and a DJ’s read on a crowd.
David has played Monkey Loft, Ora, and Club Sur, and brought techno to the crowd at Critical Festival. Seattle has one of the most durable underground electronic scenes in the country, and playing to a city that knows the music is what shaped the way he reads a floor.
Along the way he has opened for Prok & Fitch, Donald Glaude, Markus Schulz, Morgan Page, Robbie Rivera, Jody Wisternoff, Jerome Isma-Ae, Simon Doty, Fehrplay, Dave Aude, TJR, Angger Dimas, MissNine, and Bombs Away. More on how he got here is in the full biography.
The David Turner Music Show has passed 130,000 hours watched, built as a high-production, visually interactive broadcast rather than a camera pointed at a booth. It has taken the Twitch front page for six hours straight and peaked near 2,800 concurrent viewers. Recent sets are archived on the live streams page, and recorded mixes are in the mixes archive.
David takes club and event bookings throughout Seattle and the greater Puget Sound area, from opening slots and peak-hour sets to full-night residencies and festival stages.
